My convoluted notes

2 Timothy 1-12

Main point -
"Timothy, keep feeding the white hot flame of God's gift in you, the unashamed courage to speak openly of Christ and suffer for the gospel."

1. Where - v. 6-8 Christ spits out luke warm, keep hot, keep fanning the flame. On going gift pertains to obedience. God creates, fans, and does, in you, all is God's work.

2. Here or all over the book -
14 restatements of this point.

3. How - 2:1 = 1:8 = 1:2
Grace comes through word, and truth, and is held by faith the continue with you.

4. Just do it -
A. Faith is authentic, love of father to son 1:3-5 "Timothy I believe with all my heart your faith is real even though it came from your grandmother and mother and not your dad."
B. 1:11-12 be prepared to suffer, don't be ashamed, the Gospel is powerful, it will be given by God.
C. 1:9-10 God saved and called for his own purpose and grace through Christ given before all began, power, over all, death and life. Power given before world, courage given before creation, favored for all time. Nothing we do, think, feel, matters, all to God's purpose. Sole reliance on God and God alone for everything!
